CENTRAL JERSEY’S JEWISH COMMUNITY LENDING A HELPING HAND FOR A GREATER CAUSE
January 24, 2005
The Jewish community of Central New Jersey will come together SUNDAY, JANUARY 30, to take part in the Jewish Federation of Central New Jersey’s annual Super Sunday.
More than 500 volunteers are expected to come to the Wilf Jewish Community Campus in Scotch Plains, in an effort to raise funds for the Federation. The money will go toward a myriad of projects and causes, such as home health care for local senior citizens and shelters for women who’ve been abused.
The day will involve several community-wide projects, including a blood drive and a food drive to collect cans for a local food pantry. A non-prescription medicine drive, as well as a clothing drive will also be held, to benefit needy Jewish communities in Eastern Europe.
Participants will include members of all ages, and activities will range from a Swim-a-Thon to a campaign to write letters to soldiers serving in Iraq and Israel. There will also be entertainment for the entire family.
News coverage of this very important community event is encouraged and welcomed. For further information, please contact Naomi Lipstein at (908) 889-5335 x314.
