Meryl Greene Salmon of Scotch Plains, NJ, graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with a BFA in graphic design. As a Senior Art Director, she designed and illustrated numerous medical journals, including Hospital Physician, Physician Assistant, Infections in Surgery, Infections in Medicine, etc. As a freelancer, she illustrated medical textbooks, journals, and diagrams for court cases. For the past nine years, Meryl has been making party decorations for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet Sixteens, etc.
 
Merylís inspiration:

Hoping the tzedakah box would be a constant reminder of the importance of giving, I used small beads, subtle colors and a simple design that can be displayed anywhere. The geometric Jewish stars are the proud symbol of an ancient heritage that stresses unity and helping out one another.
