Vicki Parker, of Scotch Plains, NJ, studied at the Parsons School of Design, School of Visual Arts, and the NJ Center for Visual Arts. Over the years she’s worked in many different expressive mediums, ranging from paper making to sculpture. Vicki calls art her “way of making sense of the world”. Her work can be seen around the Tri-State area at places such as the Watchung Art Center, the Ward-Nasse Gallery in NYC, the Noyes Museum, Nabisco Gallery, and the Trenton City Museum.
Vicki’s inspiration:
Using collage, I was able to combine the essence of tzedakah in words and colors, uniting the concept of tzedakah with Hebrew and English inscriptions. The faces on the beadwork represent the circle of people that the gift of charity will unite.
